This piece begins with a recording of a policeman at a regular checkpoint in Accra, Ghana asking for a small donation before a car passes through.  Newspapers in Ghana at this time regularly reported on incidences of people submitting to bribes in order to receive otherwise free services.  I researched and produced this for In Focus, a 10-minute program on human rights issues on Radio Gold, a private station.
