Millhouse Company Marks 10-Year Anniversary With 10-Day Sale

Menswear Label Also Unveils New Collection In Time For Carnival

January 31, 2007 – Port of Spain, Trinidad… Millhouse Company, Trinidad and Tobago’s foremost company designing men’s sports wear, is celebrating 10 years of business with a 10-day sale on all clothing, including its 2007 Carnival collection, beginning February 8, 2007.

“We’re honouring each year of our success with a day of reduced prices to thank customers for their patronage,” said co-owner Coline Baptiste-Mills.  “We’re giving them 25 per cent off all clothing in the showroom – and that’s a big deal because our customers are already eager to see the Carnival line.”

The new collection features lightweight fabrics in lighter colours and more casual styling.  Items include ski, vintage and polo T-shirts, drawstring pants, capris and baby tees for women.   “It was designed specifically for fetein’.   We know people are preparing for parties like Eyes Wide Shut and Glow, so we’ll have extra discounts on our black and white items too,” said Coline.

Millhouse Company has enjoyed a decade of steady growth.  In the 1980s, a creative twenty-something Gregory Mills started sewing with friends in a San Fernando tailor shop.   He was talented, ambitious and had visionary style.  By 1997 he was in Port of Spain at the forefront of Millhouse, a small but prosperous customized tailor shop, fitting men with his clean lines, classic fit and European flair.  Gregory was – and is – heavily supported by his wife Coline, who gave the business its name and is now manager with an education in business management and years of experience.  “It’s an exciting time,” Gregory said.  “Ten years of good business means we’re sure to have ten more!”

Today Millhouse is a recognized brand locally and internationally: it has outfitted leading Caribbean entertainers, and collaborated with New York-based Trinidadian designer Charlene Sheppard-Duncan to outfit international celebrities including Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Jill Scott and Musiq.
